Q. What are your funders?
A. Currently COFS can accept most of the major Medicaid HMO’s, Medicaid, Children’s Medical Services and FL Healthy Kids, and Community Based Care funding.
Q. How do I make a referral?
A. The fastest way to make a referral is to complete the encrypted referral form on the website and hit “submit”. It will come directly to us. You can also fax a referral at 386.753.9265, or call our office at 386.259.5413, and speak to a referral specialist.
Q. Is there an age limit for therapy?
A. No, Circle of Friends Services provides services for children zero to 18 and adults.
Q. Do you have bi-lingual therapists?
A. Yes, COFS currently employs several therapists who speak Spanish, English and Creole. Forms and written literature about our services are also available in Spanish.
Q. Where are services provided?
A. COFS provides services in the home, school, or in clinic. Typically the place of service is the choice of the client being served.
Q. What are the qualifications of your therapists?
A. All of our therapists are Master’s level therapists. Most are licensed or licensed eligible. Several are doctoral level therapists. All of our therapists are Adoption Competent and specially trained in dealing with families and children following traumatic events.
Q. Will my information be shared with other agencies, such as the Department of Children and Families?
Q. Are there times when my information is not kept confidential?
A. Yes, there are three circumstances in which the therapists cannot maintain confidentiality:
If a client provided information to a therapist alleging child abuse or neglect
If a client threatens to harm himself or herself.
If a client threatens to harm another person.
